SolarAid has recently recruited a Country Business Manager for it's Kenya programmes.

Gavin Bowen has extensive experience in franchising in the UK and the United States and has brought his model to Kenya.

He has been scouring the countryside for the best sales people for the rural solar market. These people are then actually voted in by their communities, as those most likely to make the best and most reliable sellers for micro-solar.

The first group of micro-solar trainees (now dubbed 'franchisees') hit the stage this week. They have a long, intense week ahead of them and it won't just stop there. The SolarAid team will then follow them into the field and work with them on developing successful selling techniques.
